Care that meets people where they already are.
WiseMed is a nonprofit founded by Riyanshi Gupta and based in the United States, bringing free dental screenings, women's hygiene supplies, and plain-language health education to underserved communities. One of our free dental camps was organized in an underserved community in Patna — no clinic visit required.
Led by students who kept showing up.
WiseMed is a nonprofit organization led by students aspiring to become healthcare professionals. We hope to make an impact by spreading awareness about various diseases and educating individuals about significant medical topics and practices, no matter their background.
In practice, that means organizing camps that bring licensed dentists and doctors, health supplies, and plain-language health education straight into the community — at no cost to the people who show up, because many families in Patna go without basic dental care, screenings, or menstrual products simply because a free, trustworthy option is hard to find.
The organization partners with established institutions — Red Cross India, Lions Club International, and Snehi International — to secure venues, volunteers, and the community trust that makes a free camp actually work.
Three ways WiseMed shows up for Patna.
Free dental camps
WiseMed organizes free dental check-up camps staffed by licensed dentists — including diaspora dentists who volunteer their time on trips home. Camps offer screenings, oral cancer checks, and take-home hygiene supplies to anyone who walks in, no appointment or payment needed.
Women's health & hygiene
Partnering with local Lions Clubs, WiseMed distributes free menstrual products directly to women in Patna's streets and underserved neighborhoods — meeting people where they already are, rather than waiting for them to find a clinic.
Health awareness & education
Every camp comes with plain-language health fliers, written in Hindi, covering the risks of tobacco and paan use, smoking, and pollution, alongside everyday habits — diet, hydration, sleep, and stress — that patients can act on immediately.
The free dental check-up camp
WiseMed partnered with Red Cross India and Snehi International to host a full day of free dental care at the Red Cross Bhawan medical center. Dr. Nishi Kumar, an NRI dentist volunteering from RIU Dental in Edison, New Jersey, and Dr. Shree Ram Sah, former Head of Dentistry at Patna Medical College & Hospital, led screenings and oral cancer checks for everyone who came through the door.
Founder Riyanshi Gupta organized the camp and worked alongside the dentists throughout the day — taking blood pressure, assisting with exams, and walking patients through more than a hundred educational fliers on tobacco use, pollution, and oral hygiene. Dr. B.B. Sinha, Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, and ER H.N. Prasad, National President of Snehi International, joined as guests of honor.

Menstrual products, handed out where women already are.
WiseMed teamed up with the Lions Club of Patna Central Classic to run a women's hygiene camp, taking free menstrual products directly onto the streets of Patna. Riyanshi Gupta and Lion Neha Prasad handed out pad sets to women passing by who needed them — no waiting room, no cost, no questions asked.
WiseMed's camps happen because of who lends a hand.
Every camp runs on borrowed venues, volunteer clinicians, and organizations willing to put their name behind a free event. These are the partners who made it possible so far.
